Single Eyelid Enlargement Procedure

Non-Crease Eye Enlargement surgery is designed for individuals with naturally single eyelids or a shorter palpebral fissure. The goal is to enhance brightness and create a visually enlarged eye appearance while preserving the unique characteristics of a single eyelid. By adjusting the eyelid contour or extending the eye opening, the eyes can appear more open and expressive without creating a visible crease. This procedure is ideal for those who prefer to maintain a single-eyelid look but still wish to enhance the overall aesthetics of their eyes.

What Is Non-Crease Eye Enlargement Surgery?

Single-eyelid enlargement surgery is performed for individuals with naturally single eyelids or a shorter palpebral fissure. The goal is to preserve the unique characteristics of a single eyelid while enhancing brightness and visually enlarging the eyes by adjusting the eyelid contour or extending the eye opening. This procedure is ideal for those who prefer not to have a double-eyelid crease but still wish to enhance the aesthetic appearance of their eyes.

Ideal Candidates for Non-Crease Eye Enlargement Surgery

  • Individuals with naturally single eyelids who develop excess skin at the outer eyelid with age
  • Those with a shorter palpebral fissure or naturally smaller eye shape
  • People who wish to improve eye proportions without creating a double-eyelid crease
  • Anyone who wants their eyes to appear larger, brighter, and more refreshed

Primary Treatment Methods

Non-Crease Eye Enlargement surgery must be customized according to each individual's orbital and eyelid anatomy. The goal is to address the specific reasons behind a dull or less defined single eyelid. Depending on the underlying cause, the procedure may involve non-incision or incision double-eyelid techniques, ptosis correction, medial epicanthoplasty, or lateral canthoplasty.

・Local anesthesia does not require fasting; you may eat as usual.
・Please do not drive or ride a motorcycle yourself after the procedure.

04Postoperative Care

Cold and warm compresses: Apply cold compresses during the first 72 hours to help reduce swelling and bruising. After 72 hours, warm compresses may be used to promote circulation and healing.
Wound care & dressing changes: Keep the incision area dry and change dressings as instructed. If skin sutures are present, they are typically removed around day 6–10 depending on wound healing.
How to change dressings: Clean the wound twice daily using sterile cotton swabs dipped in normal saline, pat dry, then apply ointment. When using cold or warm compresses, place gauze over the area to reduce the risk of infection.
Medication & eyelid hygiene: Use prescribed eye drops or ointment as directed to prevent infection and support proper healing.
Eye use & daily habits: Avoid prolonged screen time or long periods of looking downward. Allow your eyes adequate rest during the recovery process.
Diet & medications:

- Pain medication prescribed by your surgeon may be taken as needed.
- Avoid irritants such as smoking, alcohol, tea, coffee, spicy foods, and all dietary supplements (e.g., Vitamin E, lingzhi, and herbal medicine).
- Maintain a light diet, stay well hydrated, and increase intake of high-protein foods and Vitamin C to support wound repair.
